The SportsBros Story

Chances are, you’re one of the billions of people across the world who proudly call themselves a lover of sports. From the soccer fields to the football stadiums that draw in millions of passionate fans every year, there is no shortage of ways you can support your favorite sports team.

Jerseys, t-shirts, posters, signed equipment and other sports memorabilia are great for displaying your pride in a team, but there remains one type of item that reigns above the others: sports cards. Ever since baseball cards first became popularized in the early 1900s, they’ve captured the attention of collectors from every corner of the earth.

If you can’t yet tell, we are part of that group. Our passion for sports isn’t just rooted in the incredible teams worth every ticket and cheer, but also the sports memorabilia that keep those moments living forever.

It only made sense for us to create SportsBros to connect with that side of the hobby while helping other fans get their hands on some unique sports cards of their own!

A Strong Start

We are fortunate enough to launch SportsBros at a time when the market is at the brink of explosion.

Experts have long been predicting that sports cards will experience a strong revival in the present-day market, creating a variety of opportunities for collectors to snag some items they might’ve missed out on in previous years — which also make for excellent investments in the long-run.

There are a few ways that sports memorabilia collectors can utilize SportsBros to take advantage of this incoming boom:

  • Short-Term Game Plan: Whether you’re more of an impatient buyer or just want to make a quick buck, purchasing a few sports cards could allow you to double your investment in only a few months.
  • Long-Term Game Plan: Patience is a golden trait, and it proves profitable when it comes to sports cards. Collectors should keep an eye out for cards that’ll never become irrelevant — we’re talking sports icons, here – and result in incredible ROI in the next few years.

Why the Revival?

If you’re wondering why sports memorabilia is coming back full swing, you’re not alone. While the art of collecting hasn’t ever fully disappeared, it has taken new forms throughout the decades.

So, what’s with the increase in popularity? Here’s what we think:

1.     Nostalgia

The 80s and 90s have influenced a whole lot of recent media, from 2017’s movie adaptation of Stephen King’s “IT” to the disco and synth-infused albums from artists like Dua Lipa and The Weeknd. People are craving a taste of the old world; sports cards line up perfectly with the trend.

2.     Value

Sports cards might’ve left the mainstream, but they’re still a worthwhile investment opportunity. Just last year, a Bowman Draft Chrome Prospect card sold for $900,000 and shattered records.

3.     Fun

Simply put, there’s nothing like the rush of opening a card pack without knowing what you might find within. It’s an experience anyone can get addicted to!
